Choosing your thickness
3
MIL
Flexible. Documents that fold or go through a printer.
5
MIL
Most popular. Everyday documents and classroom materials.
7
MIL
Sturdy. Menus and frequently handled cards.
10
MIL
Maximum rigidity. Outdoor signs and heavy-duty tags.
Pro tip: Check your laminator's manual before ordering 10 mil pouches — not all machines are rated to handle them.
Hot vs. cold pouches
🔥 Thermal (hot) pouches
The most common type. Requires a heated laminator to melt the adhesive. Works with standard documents, photos, and cards.
❄️ Pressure-sensitive (cold) pouches
No heat required. Use for inkjet photos, faxes, or thermal paper that would blacken or warp under heat.
